Description

Take a guided day trip from Tokyo to shop and dine at Nakaminato Fish Market, one of the largest tourist markets in Ibaraki. Visit Oarai Isosaki Shrine’s Kamiiso-no-Torii gate facing the Pacific Ocean, and explore the rolling hills, grassy plains, and vibrant flowers at Hitachi Seaside Park. After meeting your guide and driver at the designated location in the morning, begin your journey. Head to your first stop, the Oarai Isosaki Shrine, founded in 856 and dedicated to Okuninushi, a deity of great importance in Japanese history. Discover the alluring Kamiiso-no-Torii, a sacred gate on the seaside rocks where the gods are said to have descended to earth. With the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop, behold the breathtaking view amid the mystical sound of waves. Next, head to Nakaminato Market, which draws over a million visitors from all corners of Japan every year. Savor fresh and affordable seafood caught on the same day at the waterfront market, about 5.5 kilometers from the beach. Then, cross the Nakaumi Bridge that connects two coastal areas, passing numerous shrines along the way. Enjoy a self-paced lunch at your own expense before arriving at Hitachi Seaside Park on Ibaraki's Pacific coastline. There, admire the coastal dune area, characterized by gentle undulations and a variety of flowers throughout the year. In spring, tulips, daffodils, and nemophila paint the landscape. In summer, sunflowers, lavender, and more dominate the scenery. In autumn, kochia, cosmos, and asters steal the show. In winter, ice tulips and plum blossoms take center stage. From late April to late May, marvel at a landscape of over 4.5 million baby blue eyes, creating a blue-and-white floral carpet against the backdrop of the sea, sky, and lush gardens. Apart from a 100-meter-high Ferris wheel with panoramic views, enjoy a variety of other attractions at the amusement park. Embrace nature with ample spaces for outdoor activities, barbecues, and cycling. At the end of the day, return to Tokyo.
