Description

Day 1: Tokyo to the Foothills of Mt. Fuji and Izu Morning: Ascend to Mt. Fuji's Wonders Our two-day journey begins with a trip to the symbolic peak of Japan, Mt. Fuji. From April 26 to November 30, we'll take you up to the fifth station of Mt. Fuji, where you can take in the majestic panoramas this iconic volcano offers. During the winter months from December 1 to April 25, we'll explore the Nishinomiya-yama Shinshu Park, a beautiful alternative with its own views and seasonal foliage. Afternoon: Lake Ashi and the Mystic Owakudani Next, we will delve into the Hakone region to experience the surreal landscape of Owakudani, known for its volcanic fumes and stunning vistas. Owakudani is a volcanic valley formed over 3000 years ago after the eruption of Mount Hakone, featuring active sulfur vents and hot springs. Here, you can purchase eggs boiled in the volcanically heated waters, which have shells turned black due to a chemical reaction with the spring water. Lake Ashi, formed by the volcanic eruption of Mount Hakone, is a caldera lake surrounded by mountains and known for its breathtaking scenery. Evening: Izu Shuzenji Onsen Retreat As the day winds down, we'll guide you to the Izu Shuzenji Onsen Hotel, where you can indulge in a traditional Japanese onsen experience, complete with a kaiseki dinner that highlights local flavors. Day 2: Izu's Natural Delights and Kamakura's Historic Charm Morning: Stroll Through Shuzenji Onsen Street Wake up to the sounds of nature and begin your day with a leisurely stroll through the Michelin two-starred Shuzenji Onsen Street, soaking in the atmosphere of old Japan. Afternoon: Discover Omuro and Enoshima Island We'll then head to the distinctive peak of Mt. Omuro, where you can enjoy a hike with breathtaking views (lunch is on your own). Afterward, we'll take a trip to Enoshima Island, known for its coastal beauty and the quaint Enoshima Sea Candle, offering a perfect spot for photos. Late Afternoon: The Romance of Kamakura Our final leg takes us to the romantic coastal town of Kamakura, where we'll ride the historic Enoden train (train fare included) and visit the famous Kamakura High School, made popular by anime and manga. This town is a treasure trove of ancient temples, serene Zen gardens, and a beautiful beach, providing the perfect end to our two-day escape. Return to Tokyo As the sun sets, we'll make our way back to Tokyo, leaving you with memories of Japan's natural beauty and historic charm that will last a lifetime.
